About Medical Arbitration

Medical arbitration procedures are much faster than a traditional judicial process, taking into account that it involves experts in the field with a degree of specialization in medical issues.

A specialized arbitrator (usually a doctor) analyzes the case, medical evidence and documentation are reviewed, and both parties are heard in an attempt to reach a fair and equitable resolution for those involved.

The institution in charge of carrying out medical arbitration is CONAMED (National Commission for Medical Arbitration), which in turn has the technical and logistical support of the State Commissions for Medical Arbitration before whom the procedure and care can be requested.
